Shahid Afridi of His Wonderful Past With 81* in Global T20 League
Shahid Afridi already seems a wonderful figure of past. However, even at this age, after retiring from international cricket, Boom Boom Afridi knows how to entertain his fans.
The explosive all-rounder rolled back the years with a blistering knock for Brampton Wolves against Edmonton Royals on Sunday at the Global T20 Canada. The 39-year-old smacked an unbeaten 81 from just 40 balls to finish the first innings on a high.
Shadab Khan, playing for Royals, took 3 wickets and then scored 27 runs in the chase as they fell short of the target by 27 runs.
Boom Boom 5 sixes and 10 fours with 81* runds in Global T20 League reminded us of how he used to rip apart the bowling lineups on his day. The batting display helped his team put on a formidable total of 207/5 in their 20 overs. The hosts went on to win the match quite comfortably as Afridi contributed with the ball as well, removing the opposition batsman, Mohammad Hafeez, cheaply. Afridi was awarded the Man of the Match for his all-round historical performance.
