Middle-order

Shoaib Malik, Fakhar Zaman

As a result of a back injury, Shoaib Malik has been drafted into the Pakistani T20 World Cup squad instead of Sohaib Maqsood.

The Pakistani wicketkeeper-batsman Sarfaraz Ahmed plays right-handed. In 2006, he captained the Pakistan Under-19 World Cup team after playing five ODIs for the Pakistan Under-19 team. In his third and fourth matches, he had scored back-to-back half-centuries.

All-rounders

Mohammad Hafeez, Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Hasan Ali, 

Babar Azam is reportedly keen to include senior all-rounder Shoaib Malik in the T20 World Cup squad, despite the chief selector’s decision to reject his request. 

Hafeez, who had an amazing year in 2020, has an average of 11 after 14 T20I matches in 2021. It is possible for him to remain on the bench in the T20 World Cup despite a decent performance in the PSL. 

Given his record in the UAE, the chief selector hinted that Imad Wasim, who was recently recalled to the T20I side, might be on the flight to Abu Dhabi. Muhammad Nawaz, who will compete with Wasim for a position in the side, and Shadab Khan. He is expected to start and the rest of the all-rounders will be included.
