In Abu Dhabi on June 12, the defending champions Karachi Kings will take on the Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Because of their high run rate, the Kings are currently atop the league table. Imad Wasim has led the team to three wins and two losses in its five matches. 

There are six points accumulated by the Karachi team at the moment. 

After fans eagerly anticipated the return of the league, the PSL schedule was released earlier today. The tournament was abruptly suspended in early March due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

An increase in COVID-19 cases in the country last month forced the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) to deny the PCB permission to hold these matches. Originally, these matches were scheduled to begin on June 1 in Karachi.

Following this, the PCB planned to move the matches to the UAE and to play them on the same dates. The date of June 9 was finally confirmed after much delay and suspense. In the end, it didn’t work out as planned. June 5 was supposed to be the start date for the remaining rounds of the tournament, while June 7  was the date decided by the board.

The cricket board faced major obstacles like visa delays, permission to land chartered flights, and quarantine protocols.
